Children’s Theatre Show: The Three Bears

Presented by Kitchen Show. Deep in the forest live Mammy, Daddy, and Baby Bear. Each day The Three Bears head into the woods to collect interesting things to re-use in their home. Soon their cosy home is turned upside down by a colourful whirlwind that threatens to sit in their chairs, eat their porridge, and sleep in their beds. It’s Goldilocks!

Bring your bears for an adventure in the woods, with original music, puppets, and a tale you thought you knew.

Every show is relaxed so join us for this friendly and fun theatre experience for children aged 6 and under, and their grown-ups.

Running Time: 45 minutes.

Film: Challengers

From visionary film-maker, Luca Guadagnino, Challengers stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turne coach and force of nature who makes no apologies for game on and off the court. D-Day: 80th Anniversary Commemoration

Events to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, the commencement of Operation Overlord on 6th June 1944, which eventually contributed to the overthrow of the Nazi Third Reich. The commemoration will include a morning event (reading of a proclamation at 8am) and a night-time event (service and lighting of a beacon at 9pm), both at the Cenotaph/War Memorial, in Bishop Auckland’s Market Place.

THE FALL GUY

Exhibition: Carboniferous Monsters

Step back to the Carboniferous Period, 100 million years before the dinosaurs. Visit tropical forests and swamps teeming with bizarre and ferocious ancient monsters, some of which had larger teeth than T. Rex. This exhibition shows what Durham and the Dales was like 300 million years ago, and explores how the remains of these prehistoric plants were the source of the carbon which formed coal. Suitable for prehistoric monster fans of all ages!

Meet Margaret Frognal (Jane Holman) and Adele Fox (Zoe Lambert), two fading performers, as they showcase their singing and playing talents accompanied by their bemused and cynical pianist. Beneath the theatrical camaraderie lurks a tension, but what is it and will it be resolved?

Featuring favourite songs from stage and screen by songwriters such as Cole Porter, the Gershwins, Stephen Sondheim, Noel Coward, and lesser-known numbers, this raucous, carbaret-style show is not to be missed.
